The Chinese built a hotel on the site of a coal mine, which competes in luxury with the most pretentious buildings
In China, they create amazing things. First of all it concerns grandiose construction projects. Suffice it to recall the hotel called Shimao Quarry Hotel, which today has no analogues and can easily compete with the most expensive and picturesque projects of fabulous Dubai.
The world’s first underground hotel was established in China. Is called the complex Shimao Quarry Hotel. Its main feature is that it was built on the site of a former industrial quarry. Even during the Second world war, coal mining was carried out here.
However, by 2000, the quarry decided to close due to the reduction of existing reserves here, as well as the introduction of new environmental regulations in China. Now here is the hotel, with not any, and on all five stars.
Shimao Quarry Hotel is located about 30 kilometers from Shanghai in the South-West direction. In total, there are 336 rooms inside, the price tag for which starts from $ 500 per night. Of course, there are even more expensive rooms. The hotel has everything you want: from the restaurant and swimming pool to the gym and climbing center.
Construction of the Shimao Quarry Hotel lasted almost 12 years. More than 5,000 people took part in the architectural initiative. Architects, engineers and builders gathered not only in China, but also in other countries. For example, in the work on the hotel took an active part well-known architect of our time Martin Jochman, the man who was responsible for the construction of the hotel-sail Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai. More than $ 300 million was spent on the construction.
Separately, it should be noted that the hotel looks really impressive. Today in the world it will be difficult to find a holiday complex that looked at least half as cool and pretentious as the Chinese.
There is no doubt that very soon the career hotel will finally establish itself as a local attraction, and will receive the richest and most high-ranking guests from around the world.
